Subject: CBS Radio Playhouse on 44th
Reading "Lost Broadway Theatres,"  the section on the Hudson at 141 West 44th, says "CBS bought the theatre in 1934 and converted for use as a radio studio. A glass-enclosed control booth was removed when the house was restored to legitimate theater."
It goes on to say that in '43 the theatre was bought by Howard Lindsey and Russell Crouse who did three legitimate shows. In 1950 NBC bought it for $595,000. In '59 they spent $100,000 restoring the Hudson to its former glory.
Do you know if this playhouse ever had a number?
Here's the list you sent in the late 90s.
