I just got off the phone with Les Burkhardt, who sends along his greetings to all.
Les tells me that he is getting good help from the Veteran's Administration, regarding his loss of eyesight. Although he is legally blind, he and Jackie have an active social life.
He does have technology that allows him to read and write.
He gets together with Cliff Rice on occasion, but they can't seem to get any activity going with the other Florida CBS retirees.
We spent close to an hour reminiscing and discussing his art collection and the various cruises we have both ( seperately) taken. He and Jackie are planning another cruise in the near future.
Why not give him a call, or send him an e-mail?
His fone number is 239-997-5450 and his e-mail address is:

9-11 Remembrance
From our archives, on the day of:
From Les Burkhardt
I just got off the phone with Joe Duenas of CBS TX and Lisa Shah of WCBS
Master Control. WCBS was the only local NY TV station on the air for 3
days...They had an automatic switchover to the transmitter at the Empire State
Building. NBC local is on the air as of this day but per Joe their signal is
very weak.
The sad news is that 2 IBEW people were working at the WTC on the Tragic
day.
Joe and Lisa gave me the name off the two.
Isais Rivera who joined WCBS during 1985
Bob Pattison who came from Boston and joined WCBS as a 4-03 tech
about 1 and 1/2 year ago.
They are among the missing, but to the best of my knowledge they were
working on the roof of the WTC.
I did not know either of these 2 individuals but our prayers go out to them
and their families.
Let us all say a prayer for our deceased fellow workers and
all those who perished on that fateful day.
