In the early 50's Tony Mattola was the opening music guitar player on the show
"Danger" originating from Studio 42. He came into the third floor maintenance
shop at the Grand Central Studios with his defective guitar amplifier. We took
the cover off and found all the components were painted over. We asked "where
did you get this amplifier?" He said a technician at NBC built it for him. We
checked and found a charred resistor caused by a shorted tube. The tube and
resistor were replaced ---Mattola was happy and the show went on.

P.S. Anyone around from Grand Central days??
